SalesPage Reports: Better Than Ever

It’s not difficult to understand why the Reports module has long been one of the most popular tools in SalesPage Financial. It’s always been simple to request specific reports, either one time or on a schedule you set and forget. And it’s easy to choose the scope of the data you want to include in each report, too. SalesPage reports have consistently delivered the right data, in the right format, to the right people, at the right time. SalesPage Financial Enterprise Version 5.1 makes working with and managing reports even easier. Here’s a quick look at what’s new.

A simplified request process

When you request a report, you can now use the same process, regardless of whether you want to create a one-time report or a recurring, scheduled one.

Broader template support

Managing templates for reportsVersion 5.1 provides native support for making report templates created with SAP Crystal Reports and Eclipse BIRT available in SalesPage; earlier versions supported only Crystal Reports templates. The changes made to support BIRT templates mean that it’s now even easier to extend the module to support report templates created with other tools, too.

Integrated template management

In earlier versions of the SalesPage Reports module, those who managed report templates used a separate tool,—the SalesPage Report Administrator—to define the templates available in SalesPage and determine how those templates would be presented to report requesters. But in Version 5.1, enhanced and simplified SalesPage report administration tools are available in the SalesPage application itself. It’s now much easier and faster to test new report templates and make them available in SalesPage.

Streamlined scheduling and execution

The Version 5.1 Reports module has been reworked to use SalesPage Express, the scheduling engine used by other queued and scheduled operations in SalesPage applications. In earlier versions, the Reports module used its own scheduling mechanisms and required additional processes to support report creation and maintenance. The streamlined new module is much more tightly integrated with core SalesPage functionality—in short, it’s much quicker to set up and much simpler to troubleshoot and manage.
